Before starting this I wanted to give a shout-out to everyone who's subscribed to this newsletter.

The outpouring of support since releasing my last article on not drinking for a year has been tremendous.

People from all over the world took the time out of their lives to send an email of encouragement and it was overwhelmingly positive that I'm still replying back to emails to this day.

This reminds me of a video I saw not too long ago...

It was of a person who is supposed to be some "red pill alpha". This man has a tendency to say some out-of-pocket things to get attention.

So this guy ends up meeting some of his followers in real life and when he does he's disgusted.

They scream to him that they hate women and other groups of people. They say vile things and you could literally see the shock on his face.

Afterward, he went on video to blame it on "the matrix" and took zero responsibility for what transpired.

What I saw was a direct reflection of what his audience represented.

As the saying goes, "Your vibe attracts your tribe" and he's attracting some pretty horrible people.

I'm telling you this because the emails I received were positive and encouraging beyond measure.

It is a reflection of the quality of the people who read this newsletter.

We're creating a movement that is healthy, positive, and focused on being the best versions of ourselves.

That being said...

Here is your 4 Minute Friday: 

1. 2 Nutrients To Improve Brain Power

Lately, I've been taking a couple of nutrients that have improved my ability to think, focus, and manage my mood.

The first is Citicoline, which is critical for neurotransmitter production and neuronal health and function.

It's been shown to benefit learning, memory, and cognitive performance.

Citicoline has also been clinically shown to increase mental ATP energy, brain cell membrane formation, mental processing speed, and the ability to tune out distractions.

The other supplement is Kanna, which is an extract from South Africa.

This indigenous plant helps balance key neurotransmitters (like serotonin) and brain waves. It's also been shown to improve executive function and cognitive flexibility while enhancing mental well-being and mood.

My experience while taking both of these is an ability to stay on a task for much longer (ie. increased focus) and a slight boost to mood. The effect is subtle but noticeable.

The supplement I use is called Brain Guard+.

2. How To Use Water To Lose Weight

There's a specific system I've been using to help me drop the weight I gained since having my second daughter.

It has to do with drinking water.

Knowing how to drink water is one of the most simple ways to lose the extra pounds so let me share my system with you:

First off drink a big tall glass of water right upon waking. Your body is dehydrated from a good night of sleep and water first thing in the morning helps hydrate you to start the day off with energy.

Next drink water before and after a meal. The reason this works is because it increases your levels of fullness from a meal and decreases overall calorie intake.

Eating to 80% fullness is one of the keys to getting lean without needing to count calories and this helps you achieve that.

The final step is to not drink any liquids while you're eating your meal. This encourages you to slow down when eating. When you drink water with a meal it tends to speed up the process of the food going from your mouth to stomach.

Not drinking water with a meal forces you to chew your food more and be more mindful.

Water is such a great tool for getting lean, which is why we have an entire module dedicated to drinking water in our Lean Body 90 program.

3. Avoid Microwaving Plastic

I don't know who needs to hear this but we must stop putting plastic in microwaves.

The main concern with microwaving plastic is that it can cause harmful additives to leach into your foods and beverages.

The primary one being BPA and phthalates, both of which are used to increase the flexibility and durability of plastic.

These chemicals disrupt your body’s hormones and have been linked to obesity, diabetes, and reproductive harm.

This means getting rid of the covers people put on plates to heat their food. Use paper towels instead as most are made of trees and recycled paper.
