The other day I sent out a tweet to my friends at X asking,

"People in their 40s & above, what are the life tips/advice that you will give for people in their 30s?"

One of the replies that came back hit me like a ton of bricks:

I have 2 kids ages 3 and 10 months. While the days may seem long the years are short.

There's something about having children that amplifies our perception of time.

For some reason, time speeds up. Sometimes you can blink and an entire day is done not knowing how you got there.

So while 18 years may seem a lot in the long run it goes fast.

My hope for me is that I show up in the best way possible for them.

My intention is to cherish every moment I have with them.

Time is fleeting and when I look back on my life I want it to be doing what I love, and being in full presence with my family.

I wish the same for you for whatever you deem important to you.

That being said...

Here Is Your 4 Minute Friday:

1. The 8-8-8 Rule For Productivity

As I have more children the concept of time management becomes more of a priority.

Not everyone has the same 24 hours and one of my goals is to make the most of my time so I found a little rule that is simple yet effective for managing our lives called The 8-8-8 Rule:

8 hours of honest work
8 hours of sleep
8 hours of recreation

In the 8 hours of recreation time you can spend it on 3F's, 3H, and 3C:

3F: Family, friends, and faith
3H: Health, hygiene, and hobbies
3s: Soul, service, and smiles

This is a simple concept yet a great way to split up your day so you're maximizing what's important to you.

Also, one of my core values in life is balance and this helps me give the appropriate time to each of the things that matter most to me.

If you're looking to improve your ability to manage your time try it out.

2. How To Turn Your Smartphone Into A Magic Pocket Computer

In the last email I sent you I talked all about the dangers of smartphone addiction.

At the end of that email, I mentioned how smartphones are not bad. They can be beneficial to your life if you set it up the right way.

Thankfully, Geoge Mack on X.com did a great thread on how to make the best use of your smartphone.

My personal favorites are the mood logs and video game lists. You can check out the entire thread here:

3. Two Supplements That Support Better Eye Health (Sponsored)

Something you may not know about me is that I had terrible vision growing up. I was ranging around -450 in one eye and -500 in the other. Pretty much everything was a blur to me.

Thankfully, in 2018 I had Lasik surgery, which has helped me have near-perfect eyesight (what a miracle).

While this has afforded me the ability to see I'm still determined to keep my eyesight stays as perfect as can be.

This is why I'm taking a couple of compounds to maintain good eye health:

Lutein and Zeaxanthin, are powerful antioxidants that promote eye health. These 2 work together as antioxidants to protect the eyes from harmful free radicals.

These protect against bluelight and light sensitivity by acting as "internal sunglasses" and because they’re found in concentrated amounts in the macula, they’re known as macular pigments, which are essential for vision.

Low levels of lutein and zeaxanthin have been associated with the delay of age-related eye degeneration and cataracts while higher blood levels of these carotenoids are linked to an up to 57% reduced risk of the above.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are the most commonly found in green leafy vegetables (e.g., kale, spinach, broccoli, peas, and lettuce) and egg yolks.

The one supplement I take to keep my eyes healthy is Mindbodygreen's Eye Health+

They contain high amounts of lutein and zeaxanthin as well as astaxanthin, which has been shown to prevent eye fatigue and sharpen vision.

Client Of The Week - Lenny, Senior Vice President

Lenny is a senior VP who wanted to lose the belly, increase energy, and get into shape so he could be a better businessman and father.

He struggled with getting on a routine and knowing what to do especially when he travels for work.

In 12 weeks, we lost 19 pounds, gained muscle, gave his energy a massive level up, and started to see his abs for the first time since high school.

Our process was to lift weights using progressive overload, schedule his workouts into his calendar, and eat 3 nutrient-dense protein meals a day while limiting alcohol intake. We gave him a solid plan and this alone helped him cut many of the decisions he made especially while traveling.

Overall, we created a structure around eating, working out, and sleeping that fit with his busy lifestyle.

One Quote To Finish Your Week Strong

“Life is so great that we only get a tiny moment to enjoy everything we see. And that moment is right now. And that moment is counting down. And that moment is always, always fleeting. You will never be as young as you are right now.”

- Neil Pasricha from The Book of Awesome

A great rule in life:

Wherever you are, be there now.

See you next week.
